How to Make this Dish:
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- White or Yellow Onion
- Jasmine or Basmati Rice (or long grain white rice)
- Cooking Oil or Vegan Butter
- Vegetable Broth
- Lime
- Garlic
- Cilantro
Sauté the onion and garlic, then lightly toast the rice in the pan before adding the broth. Bring to a simmer and cover for 20 minutes. Add lime, cilantro, and salt to taste. That’s it!

Ingredients
1 cup long-grain white rice (jasmine or basmati works great)
2 cups Vegetable Broth
1 tbsp Avocado Oil
2 cloves of Garlic – sliced or diced
1 Yellow Onion – chopped
Juice and Zest of 1 Lime
1 cup Fresh Cilantro – finely chopped
Salt to taste
Directions
- Soak and wash rice. Meanwhile prepare onion, garlic and cilantro.
- In a medium to large pot or pan heat oil on high before adding the onion. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until soft.
- Add rice to the pan and slightly toast for a couple of minutes (stirring frequently).
- Add the garlic and cook for 2 more minutes before adding the broth. Stir. When it begins to simmer, reduce the heat to low. Cover for 20 minutes or, depending on the rice package instructions.
- Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes before removing the lid.
- Finally, sprinkle in all that chopped cilantro, lime juice, and zest. Salt to desire. Stir it and serve.
