Crispy Homestyle Potato Chips

Crispy Homestyle Potato Chips

These Crispy Homestyle Potato Chips are a simple and healthier alternative to store bought potato chips.

Making homemade potato chips is fun and makes for a delicious healthy snack. Even better, by making them yourself you can control the amount of oil and how you would like to season them. Eat these plain or dunk in your favorite chip dip or guacamole!

I just love these chips, they have a kettle cooked feel to them but baked in the oven. They have everything you love about a potato chip, including the crunch and just the right amount of salt! What makes them healthier is not being fried and full of fillers, they are made from 100% REAL potatoes and only 1 tablespoon of oil in the entire batch! Made slightly thicker than the average potato chips you would find in the bagged variety giving them more of a bite.

How to Make Crispy Homestyle Potato Chips

For best results, slice your potatoes very thin. If you own a mandolin, this will work wonderfully, alternatively, you can use a sharp knife. If you do end up having thicker cut potatoes, bake at a lower temperature and for longer.

Simply cut potatoes 1/8 inch thick and lay the slices out on paper towel or a dish cloth for 10 minutes to remove some of the moisture. Next, toss with some oil and your favorite spices until well coated. Lay the chips out evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 7-9 minutes per side. Check on them regularly to avoid burning. Remove from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm with your favorite chip dip or guacamole.
