Vegan Camping Checklist

This year my husband and I are taking a road trip to a beautiful camping spot down in Tobermory, Ontario. If you haven’t been, you must put it on your list. Tobermory is a beautiful little lakeside town , people go there for the beautiful crystal clear blue water, rock beaches, and adventures <3

As our trip approaches, I wanted to share with you all some of our Vegan Camping Food and Supply Essentials!

Preparation is key, having the right supplies and food items will make a difference in the ease and enjoyment of your trip! I have made this checklist to help you out! Everyone’s trip is different and lists will change based on individual needs but this serves as a fantastic guideline.

Supplies:

  • Fire Starters (matches, lighter, flint, newspaper)
  • Large Cooler
  • Smaller Cooler for day time travelling
  • Portable Grill / Cooking Element (if fuel powered make sure to pack extra canisters)
  • Cooking Pots and Pans
  • Oven Mits
  • Ice Packs and Ice
  • Re-usable snack bags and Tupperware
  • Thermos
  • Fresh Water Jugs if not available on site
  • Water Bottles
  • Skewers
  • Vegan Marshmallow and Hot dog sticks!
  • Cutting Board and Knife
  • Can opener
  • Scissors
  • Vegetable peeler
  • Durable Camping Dishes and Cutlery¬† (including spatula,and tongs)
  • Washing Bin for Dishes
  • Drying Rack
  • Dishtowels and Sponges
  • Dishsoap
  • Large Bin to store Dishes and non-perishable foods (make sure the lid can be tightly secured so no animals can get in)
  • Picnic Basket
  • French Press for Coffee
  • Garbage Bags
  • Paper Towel
  • Folding Table if no picnic table provided

Groceries:

  • Coffee and Tea
  • Oats, granola and cereal
  • Nut Butter
  • Plant Milk
  • Sweeteners (maple syrup, brown sugar, cane sugar)
  • Condiments (dressings, ketchup etc.)
  • Seasonings (Salt, Pepper etc)
  • Granola Bars
  • Easy pack fruit, such as grapes, apples, clementines and melon
  • Hummus and crackers
  • Naan Bread, and Pita Bread
  • Veggie dogs and burgers
  • Bread and Buns
  • Tortillas for simple veggie hummus wraps and breakfast burritos
  • Salsa
  • Tofu and other veggie meat alternatives
  • Pre-washed Salad Mixes
  • Corn on the Cobb
  • Veggies for snacking (carrot sticks, snap peas, broccoli)
  • Potatoes
  • Nuts and Seeds
  • Rice (you can use quick rice variety but check for healthful and vegan ingredients)
  • Boxed Beans or pre-soaked and cooked from home
  • Canned soups and boxed Vegan Mac ‘n’ Cheese
  • Vegan Marshmallows, chocolate and Graham crackers!
  • Popcorn

I suggest writing and planning out your meals in advance, this also means snacks! If you are pre-packing everything try to plan your meals to eat the most perishable food items first.
